Tapeley Park’s spacious grounds provide many unique event spaces which can be used separately or in combination. As well as Tapeley’s own in-house events, the grounds are available for hire and include indoor and outdoor event spaces that are perfect for workshops, exhibitions, artistic performances, live music, festival and boutique market events.
During the summer season, Tapeley hosts a number of small events and the occasional weekend festival which makes use of all the grounds have to offer – from parking and camping fields to marquees on the front lawn and stalls and workshop tents dotted around. With their experience of working the venue, the Tapeley team works with organisers to ensure a successful event.
Main outdoor event spaces are the ample front lawn, dairy lawn and, depending on the event, Italian Terrace spaces. With access to two large fields with stunning views over the North Devon coastline, Tapeley can accommodate weekend events of up to 1000 people. The old barn provides a covered event space (with its own bar, and courtyard) which is licensed for 70 people.
Each summer Tapeley hosts a season of outdoor theatre with productions ranging from family shows to classic Shakespeare (often with a twist!) and contemporary original performances. The setting with its backdrop of coastal and lush garden views brings a wonderfully dramatic aspect to any performance.
